Hit the road is an informal expression which means to go, leave, or begin a journey or trip. “I’m hitting the road next week. I’m going to New York! Isn’t that exciting?”

Sit tight simply means to wait patiently.
“sit tight”はしばらくお待ちくださいという意味です。

BRAZZY: I think you would be better off studying in Canada or the US since the teachers are native speakers, and you have to use English every day! It would be a good practice.

Better off means in a fortunate position. This is often used with “would” especially when you are giving advice: “You would be better off quitting your stressful job and finding another opportunity.”
