＜VOL 23＞ビデオレッスンー英会話に必須の『句動詞』とは？ーです。

Hello everyone. This week’s video lesson is about Phrasal Verbs.
皆さん、こんにちは！今週は句動詞についてのビデオレッスンです！
Phrasal verbs are two-word phrases that consist of “verb + adverb” or” verb + preposition”. You will be able to remember it more easily if you think of each phrasal verb as a separate verb with a specific meaning. Phrasal verbs, like any other verbs, have more than one meaning and there are no rules that might explain how phrasal verbs are formed correctly.
句動詞は“動詞＋形容詞”または“動詞＋前置詞”の２つから成り立つ言葉のことです。
単語を切り離してみるとそれぞれの意味が分かると思いますが、句動詞はその他の動詞のように、１つ以上の意味を持っています。そして、中には定型フレーズといった、決まりのない句動詞もあります。
１：Ask out
Ask out means to invite someone on a date.
Ask outは（人を）デートに誘うと言う意味です。 ＜For example＞
Hiro asked Mika out to dinner and a movie.
ヒロはミカを夕食と映画に誘った。 ＜Another example：もう１つ例を挙げると＞
Are you free tonight? Can I ask you out?
今日時間ある？デートしない？
２：Back up
Back someone up means to support someone.
Back someone upは（人を）援助する、支えると言う意味です。
＜For example：例えば＞
My husband back me up on my decision to quit my job.
私の夫は仕事を辞める後押しをしてくれた。
＜Another example：もう１つ例を挙げると＞
I will suggest something to the boss. I need you to back me up.
私は上司にちょっとした提案をするつもりでいます。貴方の後押しが必要です。 ３：Come across
When you find something unexpectedly. You can use the phrasal verb come across.
思いがけずある物を見つけた時に、come acrossというフレーズが使えます。
＜For example：例えば＞
I came across these old photos while I was cleaning the room.
部屋を掃除してた時に偶然古い写真を見つけた。
I came across this website last night. It’s pretty interesting.
昨晩このウェブサイトを偶然見つけた。とても興味深い。
４：Do away with
Do away with something means to discard or to get rid of something no longer useful.
Do away with somethingは（不要な物を）捨てるまたは処分すると言う意味です。 ＜You could say：このように言うことができます＞
We should do away with these old clothes. Perhaps give it to the homeless.
この古着を処分すべきだ。もしかしたらホームレスにあげれるかもしれない。
I think it’s time to do away with these unused applications in your phone.
携帯の中に入っている使わないアプリを削除する時だ。 ＜And our last phrasal verb is：最後のフレーズになります＞
５：Get along
Get along means to like each other. So for example, you and another person like each other even on the first meeting.
Get alongはお互い好きになると言う意味です。例えば、あなたと他の誰かが初対面でお互い好きになると言ったような感じです。
＜You could say：このように言うことができます＞
We get along very well.
私たちは良いお付き合いをしています。
＜Let’s have another example：もう１つ例を挙げると＞
I was surprised to see how well my mother and my girlfriend got along. 母と彼女が上手くいっていることに私はとても驚きました。
In order to understand, “speak”, “read” and“ write” correct English, it is important to learn phrasal verbs. Phrasal verbs are frequently used in spoken English and thus mastery of these is much needed.
句動詞を理解をするには、正しい英語で「話す」、「読む」、「書く」ことが重要です。句動詞はよく話し言葉として使用されます。上記のように句動詞を使いこなすことが必要です。
